Foster Home Application

All the Good News

As a Foster Home with Arizona Border Collie Rescue, you will be providing the invaluable service of offering a temporary home for a Border Collie whose life may depend on it. While fostering, you will be expected to train your rescued BC in both basic manners and house training (if necessary). We expect you to keep the dog indoors with the family a majority of the time, including at night, to provide socialization and positive bonding.

Any necessary and pre-approved medical expenses for your foster will be reimbursed. As you probably expect, the most difficult part is giving them up to their forever homes. This bittersweet event is tempered however, in knowing they are going to a home that loves them just as much. Happiness mixed with a twinge of sadness should be no surprise.

NOTE: Information submitted on this application will be used only for the purpose of evaluating potential foster homes and volunteers. The information will stay with the Arizona Border Collie Rescue, and is not available publicly.

By Submitting this Application, I agree to the terms and conditions below

ALL VOLUNTEERS
By submitting this online application to Arizona Border Collie Rescue, I understand that it is my decision to foster any particular dog. I will not hold Arizona Border Collie Rescue, or any member thereof, responsible for any damage, injury, or harm caused, directly or indirectly, by any dog I may decide to foster. I agree to keep identification (collar and ID tag) on the dog AT ALL TIMES.

I agree to be cautious when introducing a new foster dog to new people and/or dogs. I will always keep a foster dog on a leash when outside of my home or yard, and agree to not take the dog to any off-leash dog park for at least two weeks or until the dog's socialability and behavior with other dogs has been determined.

I agree to not to rehome or relocate the foster dog without explicit permission of Arizona Border Collie Rescue.

I will contact Arizona Border Collie Rescue regarding any veterinary needs the dog may have, unless it is a life-threatening emergency. I will use veterinarians that are scheduled for or recommended to me by Arizona Border Collie Rescue. If I should choose to take the dog to my personal vet, I will not expect reimbursement without prior approval by an officer of Arizona Border Collie Rescue.

In the event that I resign, whether it be voluntarily or by request, I agree to immediately return any foster dog in my care at that time to Arizona Border Collie Rescue. Additionally, all records pertaining to foster dogs past and present shall be returned to Arizona Border Collie Rescue within 10 days of said resignation. I further agree that upon termination, all rescue records become the property of Arizona Border Collie Rescue.

In public dealings, I will remember that I am a representative of Arizona Border Collie Rescue, and shall make every effort to promote the mission of Arizona Border Collie Rescue. This includes not only answering questions accurately and politely, but also referring questions to more knowledgeable resources whenever necessary.

I have completed this application to the best of my ability and knowledge. I have made no misstatements or misrepresentations. I understand that discovery of such can result in the termination of my volunteer duties.

Thank you for taking the time to complete this questionnaire. If a rescuer does not contact you within one week of your submitting this application, please email us at: Kelly.Quinn@azbordercollierescue.com
