About Me
Pete is an absolute sweeetheart. He has been through so much and still remains a loving and friendly boy with a great attitude. He came to us with multiple fractures to his left hind leg. Thankfully there was no joint involvement and his leg has completely healed. Shortly after arriving it was discovered that Pete had distemper. This could have been a death sentence for some but Pete is a survivor and beat the odds. He does have some nerve damage from the distemper causing a "twitch" that will always be with him though. Pete also has some dental hypoplasia where the enamel didn't completely form on some of his teeth. This was most likely caused by an infection as a puppy and should not present any problems for him. In spite of everything, Pete loves everybody he meets. He has been around children, the elderly, and everything in between and hasn't yet met anyone he wouldn't like to pet him or go for a walk with. He likes to play ball, and he LOVES to play in the hose. He has been going to the dog park recently and loves to socialize with the other dogs . . and the people, of course. Pete uses a doggie door and has had no accidents in the house. He also loves to sleep on the bed but is happy to sleep on the floor. He is good in a wire crate too, but is happiest when with his humans. He has been living in a multiple dog household and gets along well with other dogs (including a 5 pound toy poodle). He likes to watch the cat but has not shown any other interest so far. Pete is looking for someone to give him the time and the love he deserves. If you are looking for a low to moderate drive dog who loves people and will be a failthful companion Pete could be your man!
