Buddy is an 8 month old neutered male border collie mix with an adorable wave of hair down his back. (sometimes it looks like a braid) He is part black lab but his energy and demeanor are BC. He is currently 61 lbs. and probably will not get much bigger based on his small paw size. He is responding fabulously to clicker (treat) training and immediately learned how to retrieve a tennis ball in one training. He is quickly learning “sit”, “stay” and “come” with the positive reinforcement training. His energy his high, so the behavior hasn’t generalized yet to all the time yet. His herding instinct kicks in when we go on bike rides where he is right at my heels. He needs some work on leash walking as we have mainly focused on biking to give him the additional exercise he needs. He is house broken but sleeps on a pet bed curled up with his brother each night in the garage without any problems. Occasionally he is assertive with his brother, but has no issues with other dogs. He just wants to play with them. He jumps high and I imagine could be a fabulous agility dog. He currently still jumps up on people, but we are working on this. He likes to chew on things (still teething?) so I have toys and chews for him. He is active and needs an active home. He is extremely lovable and will give kisses. We found him and his brother lost in the street three months ago and we are looking for their forever homes.
